If you think that's why people are critical, there's really no point in debating politics at all.
Your entire premise of this discussion was "Trump's world is not that bad; prove me wrong" and NOT, "Hey guys, I have someone who is better in almost every way." You painted Trump as the lesser of two evils, but then disavowed responsibility by saying you didn't want to see a second term. Seems more like you're advocating being an anti-Democrat than trying to win voters to your cause. That's what people who aren't hardcore liberals, like me, react to.
Your argument switched from outlawing of "assault weapons" to taxing possession. I think a $200 tax for suppressors is idiotic, but that's not what we were debating.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
