i've seen much of the same, its a shell game.  nobody wants to make a post about how they're drinking wine at 11AM in a dark house while the 2 year old naps to dull the anxiety

What about bourbon?  Asking for a friend. 

bourbon is malted grains, aka liquid cereal, therefore is considered a brunch item

i liked bourbon a lot more after i became a dad *ahem*

"Thanks for inviting Little Johnny to your daughters birthday party.  Is it ok if I just drop him off so you can be the one to get him drinks and food and take him to the bathroom and otherwise be entirely responsible for him?   Its not like you will be that busy running the party or anything.   I simply can't be bothered to attend your party and I want some free babysitting."

This happened to us and apparently its not even that uncommon.

holy shit this.  like, at least make an effort to cover up how you just want rid of your kid for 2 hours.  for you guys about to have kids, be prepared to put in the time wherever you go with them unless its an obvious situation where they're meant to be taken care of by someone else.

we had a lady RSVP the morning before my son's birthday party to bring her daughter. that afternoon i went to pick him up from school and noticed the daughter in question was coughing all over the place with snot dripping down her face.  i had to confront the mom that sorry, daughter's uninvited because she's diseased and maybe, just MAYBE the other 14 kids at the party don't want to go near that nonsense.  she was pretty indignant, i was just confused.  last i talked to her since then...idiots.

i'm headed this way soon. FB is basically so old neighbors/family have access to family pictures easily, because they expect it. its tiring, and aside from the marketplace and some friendly trolling of posts here and there i just resent the time i waste on it anymore.
