The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thread!

That said, my ear cups are starting to fall apart after like 8 years so I asked for an upgrade as a Christmas present. I obviously haven't been able to test them yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll have a new set of QC35's in a few days. I didn't really have a need for wireless, but I figured as long as I'm upgrading...

That's basically the exact ones I would be looking at.  I have come to realize with as much as I travel that size, lightness and comfort are all super important for headphones to me.  I've been through enough of them now ha.  The Sonys get a really positive review from CNET and others but they are heavier and definitely look a lot bigger.  Granted it's a different type of headphone but the PS Platinum headset by Sony that I game with is incredible in terms of sound quality, features and comfort...but they are HUGE and heavy.  Like, I would never wear them out of my man cave or use them for any other reason other than to game.  Those 1000XM2s kind of give me the same vibe.

That new Google Assistant button on the QC35 IIs is dope too!

Picked up a set of Sony WH-1000XM2's last night.  After going back and forth a million times between the QC35's and these in-store, I liked these better.  Couldn't really tell a difference between the noise cancellation (the Sony's seem to have a REALLY faint white noise with it on, which I actually sorta liked).  Went with the Sony's because they had two features I liked better: 1) a dedicated button to switch between noise cancellation on/off/ambient (couldn't find that on the Bose), and 2) a feature where you can just hold your hand over the right ear and the music will turn down and noise cancellation to ambient if you need to briefly speak with someone.  Also, the touch controls were nice.

There were a bunch of other features I didn't think I'd ever use (and my wife definitely won't).  I know Bose is usually the go-to, but at least check out some of the comparos with the Sony's.

Good call, I would love to do a side by side.  Where were you able to try them both on?  Best Buy?
