I did all that shit growing up, including a multi-day survival course. No point in screwing with a lighter when starting a fire in the rain. No fire is just lame. You already have the gas for the stove, so all you need is the 6" nozzle and you have a fucking blowtorch. You can literally reach in the fire and grab a burning log with welders gloves. Poking sticks are for n00bs. They're also great for using dutch ovens in the fire.
