My bad, Samsung is HDR10. So yes, it would be best to have both in the long run, however, it looks like this whole thing may just sort out to be one of those Dolby DTS scenarios where they both co-exist nicely (Netflix streams both of them currently.)

HDR is just built into the HDMI 2.2 signal - so if it's 4K passable it should be HDR passable.
