The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thread!
Lee, I've had a 12 gallon 5hp peak shop vac that had all sorts of adapters for years and it's taken everything I've thrown at it, including an 1850's house and a school renovation. It can be bulky for quick jobs, but still fairly portable. Highly recommend the bag inserts for it, keeps the filter clean and you can just toss the bag with out all the dust of dumping the bucket. I do like the size of that little 4 gal one though.

I added a humidifier to our downstairs furnace but the screen scaled up in one winter, so I haven't run it this year. We've got pretty hard water in the town and need to take a serious look at a whole house softener system. I replaced 6 hot water elements shortly after we moved in that were solid bars of calcium or whatever, and one of the tanks blew another element over Christmas which failed in a way that water was leaking out of the connector. (glad we were home this year and caught it)

I don't think a radon test was required at purchase but we did a mail in test anyway. I think this house was borderline but haven't checked it since that inspection, should probably run another one and see if it's changed.
Might as well do that again.

On a side note, we're shopping for someone to clean the duct work, the kids have been getting sick for a while and the general thought from the doc is allergies. I keep the filters on the furnaces changed but they said it might be worth having someone check/clean the ducts.
