Car cover for winter?

So, the roof on my Miata leaks a little during really bad rain. Not enough to mess up anything, but on such a special interior such as mine, I'm worried about any moisture. It's A-Okay in the barn here at home, but I'm worried about sitting outside at JMU and the eventual snow if I don't manage to get the car stored in the barn for winter (Which I'm not sure I'd want anyway with the barn cats and other animals in there.)

What are my options? Will a car cover destroy my paint that quickly if I'm just using it for 2 semesters? Can I just cover it if I know it's going to rain? Maybe a shower curtain or something over the roof?

Edit: To clarify, the roof doesn't leak, the seals on the windows do, which I may be able to remedy. I could possibly pick up a Miata fitted cover for cheap and I could wash it well before putting it on.

See if you can pick up a Mazda cover for it on the cheap. I had one and it helped during snow. Not sure about heavy rain as the covers are fabric and do "breathe" aka rain does get through them a bit.

Get some Shin-Etsu grease from a Honda dealer and re-lube your window seals. It will make the rubber swell back up and may help - worked wonders on my E36.

Also, I hate to burst your bubble, but the only thing special about your interior is the seats... and it's a 20-year-old Mazda designed to be roofless. I managed to leave the roof down on mine three times during heavy thunderstorms, because I'm a forgetful-yet-lovable idiot, and it was fine once I bailed the water out. A few leaks around the windows aren't gonna hurt anything. If you're that concerned, grease the window seals and Leatherique the seats every six months to keep them soft.
