Sounds like you should be writing your senator about federal overhaul of all gun laws so it's consistent in every state.

There is one federal gun law that is being ignored. The second amendment especially the "shall not be infringed" part.

in general this is a states rights issue. i just think VA went the wrong way and is going to feel the "states rights" wrath.

I agree somewhat. The constitution gives the "right to bear arms" - it doesn't specify anything about concealed carrying so it's hard to say what is being infringed on.

Just trying to play devil's advocate. I don't really see the benefits of VA doing this, but the only real negative is that your VA conceal permit (if you even have one) may no longer be valid in another state at some time in the future. Lot of '"ifs" there and it doesn't seem like the state of VA really gives a shit if you can't carry your gun elsewhere so no real negatives for the state.
