MM Spring Car Show 2015 - Planning Thread

Odd, I never had a hard time picking a date or lot.

That said, I started the process at the end of the fall semester, and nagged the everloving **** out of Debbie to make sure she knew and remembered. I was the squeakiest wheel in student orgs when it came to getting the date/lot I wanted, and it worked.

Sending emails is easy, so do as Ray suggested and send a few. Don't use words referencing to "anger" but rather to "disappointment." You are disappointed that a club who has a roughly ten-year tradition of hosting this event on campus is being forced to consider alternative arrangements - arrangements that will disassociate JMU with the event. There are other lots (parking decks, really) that can be used for the conference parking that is needed on the same day. Ask if those have been considered as options for the conference parking, as attendees can park in a structure, but the show truly requires an open lot to be successful.

Shit, CC President Rose. If the true vibe is that we as a student org are being denied a lot thanks to an external conference being hosted, that's cause for concern as his (and past presidents') public image has always been "students are a priority" not "ZOMG how can we profit the most." That said, we know profit drives everything.

I'm with Ray. Email everyone you can. Be politely obnoxious. You might be surprised. That's how I got my job at the Apple Store.
