An exotic will get you there, buy one from Xur on Friday.
max it out, then go to destinylfg, find yourself some bros.
I still have two pieces of rare armor, so I'm a long way from exotic. I can't upgrade up legendary because I need infinity Ascendent Shards and I can't buy legendary because I'm Vanguard Level 0 and you need Level 2. Apparently I was collecting FWC rep points that I can do nothing with. Sadly, my character is largely unchanged from a month ago and it's really turning me off from the game. I'm not a grinder, so I'm stuck being too low a class to play with others. :?

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
