that's not the 'job market' that's AOL and they are laying off b/c people are finally starting to realize that AOL != Internet, AOL sucks.

you're assuming there is going to be another job waiting for those 700 folks.
lets be honest... without aol, the internet certainly would not be where it was today. granted they are a dinosaur and have been slow to adopt changes in an ever changing market, but they are well on their way to grasping a hold of their diminishing market and gaining new ground is not out of the question.
