HyperFest 2013 - June 14-16th

I love Hyperfest for the awesome pictures that come out of it due to photographers like Primo Lifestyle, RSB, and FlimFlam.

I came in 2nd on Saturday by a whopping .36 seconds, 1st on Sunday. I wish I had ran video, especially for Saturday's race. It was really nice to have a heated battle as I got to see a lot more of the mistakes I regularly make and how they can bite me in a close race. I lost because of those many mistakes, and hopefully I will learn from them to bring it stronger next time. I need to be a bit more aggressive with traffic, I tend to wait for a clean line because I am not usually in a rush to get by someone. Skeen took advantage and just plowed through. By the end of the race, I had caught on.

Misshifts. For some reason since I put in this new transmission/DSSR, I have been having constant misshifts. At least 1-2 a race. I was alongside Skeen on the straightaway pulling past after a good exit of turn 10, and I misshifted, allowing him to speed back up and get just enough speed to block me in. May be time for a race shifter instead of the stock I have now.

Lastly, gearing. I love my 3.64, but its pretty obvious the past year how the guys with 3.73s pull on me on the straights (blow past me in my draft, yet pull away slowly on me even if I am in their draft). Was one of those "didnt care" because I was doing well, and to change gearing is another $750. If I keep the car, I think I will be doing this over the winter.

Luckily the car was not that mangled from the hit from Skeen, and I will only need to replace my splitter. (back to my high-pressure composite splitter, AKA Plywood :lol: )
