Nice choice on the third brake light. I've always loved the edm/jdm rear fog or third brake lights.

I am still undecided on whether to wire it as a brake light or as an additional taillight (to remain on when the lights are on)

I vote for wire it as a taillight to remain on with the others. Something about that extra light just looks so good. Plus juan for staying with the top mount. FMIC are all for looks unless you are pushing serious power. It does look cool though.
