Now that the show is over can we just give the smoke and mirrors a rest?
If you really had invested too many hours to describe in this then it wouldn't have fallen on its face at noon. Fact is, you had a bunch of big ideas, didn't think through the little things, and your team didn't have faith in you and wasn't capable of working with one another. You spread yourself too thin for the day because I guess you think its better to have a ton of stuff on your resume than to have one thing you did perfectly.
Hearing Kristin complaining about being there from the first thing in the morning straight through was incredibly disappointing from someone who is supposed to be the face of the club. Lincoln getting pissed off about the grilling and chirping tires out of the show was completely unacceptable, and Matt's burned out attitude was icing on the cake.
Cody, because of your other obligations, it was your job to come up with a plan of attack and get your team pumped about running the show without you being there. When to block off the lot, when to get food (both friday afternoon), when to start setting up the show, when to light the grill, who will make announcements and when, and about a thousand other items that need to be thought through before it happens.
Anyway, I'm done, and this is my last post on the subject. The deed is done and there is no going back now, the year is over and you're free of this (apparently awful) responsibility. But can you please have the decency to not stand there and play the blame game like you did everything perfectly. If you want to go into marketing, you're going to need to be able to pull off stuff ten times as complicated as this show, and not being accountable for your actions (both successes and failures) is the quickest way to get fired.
