My issues........as of right now anyway.
MM Car Show:
no PUBLIC posts about info, time, etc etc that I have seen.
Coffee Fundraiser:
NO interest by current students/officers to help or even want to raise money for the club. Which is why I have already called it a wash. I want to help the club, but I cant Tech cars, prep my car, drive my car, and sell the coffee and food. Luckily Kaan was there running the table in January, Jake and DJ were busy and helped when they could.
Use of the Forum:
Current students will use the forum, once you get them out to events and they can talk to and put faces to forum names. I had the same issue, and I am sure Jake/Goodspeed had the same issue, if they see officers using it the current students will follow. I didn't run a single meeting without pulling the forum up on the projector to show people where things were and the threads they need to signup and communicate through.
In regards to this being the off season. 1 AutoX has already happened, another is happening this weekend, then VIR the following. Seems like the season is in full swing. Yet I have not seen any interest from the current officers/students in attending any of the upcoming events, aside from Matt wanting to work. Spectating, ride alongs, and getting to know the full time NASA folks is how you get worker spots. As current officers, you guys need to be in Laura Cobetto's face the first event of the season.
Last, it is hard to convince current students to come to events, when you as current officers don't show up to any either. From an Alumni standpoint, our view is this. If you don't show up to the track/autoX/other events, and you don't post on the forum. NOTHING is getting done. I could honestly give 2 shits about the Top Gear nights, or eating ice cream at Kline's. That's a great basis for building friendships among current students. My complaint and I feel most other Alumni's complaints are, as Alumni, we can't build those relationships if no one shows up to the previously mentioned track/AutoX events.
I don't think I am an asshole in person or on this forum, if I am oh well, 'tis life. I have just put so much time/sweat/life into this club I am depressed at the participation this year at the track/autoX events.
