So quick question for you gun gurus.
I was told that "manually loading" a handgun can damage the extractor. I wanted to verify exactly what manual loading is.
1. Manual loading is opening the slide, locking it, and physically placing a round in the chamber. Then releasing the slide?
2. Or is manual loading inserting a loaded magazine with the slide forward, and then cocking back the slide and releasing it to chamber a round?
3. The proper way to load my XDM according to the manual is to pull the slide back and lock it, insert a loaded magazine and then hit the slide release button.
Is #2 okay to do as well as #3? Or is #2 considered manual loading?
