Adam, I ran mine without coolant. Even cars that are only fair weather, youll have an issue with cold-starts as that is where the ECU reads and adjusts the idle based on coolant temperature.
They have a phenolic spacer available between the manifold and the head where I would imagine there is a larger temp difference to be had between the head and an aluminum intake manifold that is stock on these cars. (Tends to transfer heat). Air also spends much more time in the manifold than the throttle body. I had it simply cause I replaced my manifold, dont think it did a damn thing (maybe made the runners 1/4 inch longer for more torque? :roll:
