I second that, take your budget...at least double that. thats what youll REALLY be spending. An engine build, tuning, EMS, wire tires/rims to handle the power, proper LSD, fuel pump/injectors/fpr, welding the oil pan, etc etc. I think youll have 7-8k in it at least. So take that 7-8k and see what you can get, I assume you can get 4 grand (at the bottom base) for your integra (unfortunately even REALLY nice integra LSs arent worth much anymore), plus 7k. 11K-12k for a car. That gets you a pretty nice s2000, or get an already built 240sx, RX8, hell get a small loan and your in an e46 M3, Evo, STi. All with wayyyy more room and will fit much better in classing.
I dont think you cant do it, we are just advising you its much better to try another way. Plus you said you wanted to autocross/road race? What kind of classing you think that puts you in? Terrible, youll be against cars with legit 50-60k in them, youll get pwned and frustrated (trust me I saw the writing on the wall when I was in HPDE with my gsx, classing would have me with those guys).
Dont worry, it can be fun, do it for yourself if you really want to, but I promise you its a bad investment and in 3 years youll go WTF. But I wont say I told you so then, because I have gone through that process and so have a lot of us.
