Awww, don't get defensive on me; you have similar enthusiasm to what I did when I was younger, so it's all in good fun. Besides, you're turning to us for advice on our own car-buying experiences and if you don't post prospects then you'll never know. The 2200 really probably is accurate. If she bought injectors from the shop, it would probably be marked up a little over what the shop paid (so let's say $700). If the shop's labor rate is $100/hour (not unheard of) that is only 15 hours of book time, which considering it looks like it require the removal of the intake plenum is certainly feasible. A good tech can probably do it in a day or so, so that's just $$$ for them.
Also, who are we to say she didn't have other work done "while they were in there" that just wasn't disclosed in the email...
