Most people leave the hi-lift and the shovel/axe up there if they have one. I plan on leaving it. I will come up with some sort of lock eventually, but the Jeep has an alarm so you are going to look like an ass climbing all over my Jeep with the horn sounding and the lights flashing. The only thing I plan to put up there when I'm wheeling that won't stay up there are Jerry cans for extra fuel if we go on a long trip. Of course the rack can also haul other things, camping stuff, cooler, whatever is needed. Hell I suppose a BIKE....if I ever was so bold. Rated for 400lbs, I have about 100lbs in it right now.
