love the idea though. you may even be able to fabricate a small diffuser/"chin spoiler" for the front of the basket to deflect some air over the top of the rack and tire and keep your wind noise down and MPG's up on the road.
Being from the hood for a short period of my life I've learned that a hoodlum will take anything whether it's locked or not. I've heard of a guys transfer case being stolen while his jeep was sitting in his driveway.All Jeff has to really do is take a bicycle lock and run through the wheel and around the rack itself and it will keep honest hoodlums honest. I think the tire carrier looks good Jeff and I think the gutter mount is the way to go.
