I always just use automagic, I can't focus enough on shifting gears and stuff with a controller. If I had a wheel / shifter knob setup I would try it, otherwise I just get impatient.
And yeah you should be way past the Fit stage by now
I haven't been able to play much but I think I'm level 9 or 10 now... just got a Maserati and a GT500 as awards.
