I mean, yeah, you're still pressurizing air (which is already pressurized) and maybe the SC is helping out on the low-end a little bit, but I just feel like it's silly...
All I know is that the cars that are running just the turbos are making 600-800+hp. Cars running both turbos and a supercharger are making 1000+ hp, and yes the blower is responsible for the low end grunt that would have been lost in a turbo only application. What makes these cars so popular is the torque from idle all the way up to redline. With a turbo only car you loose that off-idle/low rpm power that's desirable when just cruising around town. Taking a look at the dyno sheets, the blower is not hindering airflow into the engine.
