The tesla would be an interesting drive. Certainly not nearly as fast as an Elise since its so much heavier, but the electric motor must be a cool feeling and no shifting

The Tesla was actually faster in a drag race with an Elise on an episode of Top Gear by a large margin and turned a lap time that was 8.5ish seconds faster than an Elise. In fact it was less than a second slower than the Exige.

You sure about that? I'm pretty sure that in the Top Gear I saw, the Tesla handily won the drag race but the Lotus kicked it to the curb when they compared them on the track.
