I thought he was good but not great by any means. The Caps put up like 35 shots on net but how many of them were from just inside the blue line with nobody in front? Really that's what they struggled with last year and are struggling with this year as well. They don't have that Franzen or Hartnell type player who is just going to sit in front of the net all game, take a beating, but be there to screen the goalie and poke in rebounds. The closest thing they have to that is probably Laich.
If they want to make anything out of this series they're going to have to realize that if you want to win in the playoffs, you have to play that kind of hockey. Cute passes and the shit that they did in the regular season just isn't going to cut it (especially against one of the best defensive teams in the league).
Personally I think they'll make it exciting, although at this point I would be surprised if NY didn't win the series.
