I would get quotes for liability only for those too. It doesn't cost much more to have collison, etc on older cars like that because they arent worth much. Unfortunately, the majority of those quotes is probably liability since your record isn't great.

i disagree...collision coverage adds a significant amount depending on your driving record and what type of vehicle it is - it added 50% more for my 86 vw as well as 40% more for my 98 acura. It may not be much in value for older vehicles, but it sure will add more relative to how much it would cost without it. Again, this is just experience with my insurance companies, others may vary.

Hmm thats weird. It only added about 25% onto my rate when I had my 98 Civic. I guess its hard to compare things like that though like you said. It's apples to oranges for sure
