Probably because people who are 20 can't imagine what it's like to be 40. If you adjusted the medians based on "people they know" or in other words, framed it based on their world, the median would be considerably lower. It ain't ballin' if your aggregate household age is 90, but the comment wasn't really directed at anyone like that... much less Feersty.
