If he can't give an exact speed, but knows you were going faster than the limit, he can give you a "failure to obey an official sign" or whatever.

Back in my speed racer days, I got a ticket for just that: "failure to obey a highway sign - speed limit sign." It's bullshit because they didn't actually clock you and it's their word against yours, but it's not bullshit because if you pass a cop when they're going the speed limit, technically you're speeding :lol:

I got the exact opposite of that one time. I WAS driving like a crazy person and got pulled over. I was extremely polite and apologetic (and about to crap myself) and the cop gave me the citation. I asked what my options were and she said I could pay the ticket or go to court where she could explain what she saw and why she gave the ticket.

The check was in the mail very quickly.
