if I bought a brand new car and the trunk was uncarpeted bare metal, Id be pretty pissed, regardless of if thats "how they are done"

People buy trucks without bed liners all the time and don't seem to complain.

Why is a truck bed any different than a car trunk? The same reason it's okay in a truck bed is the same reason it's okay in a garage... to save money.

Whether or not the garage is finished is generally in the contract and available as an option... it's not like they just don't do it to save cash and whore the buyers.

I dont consider a truck bed to be the same, which is why I didnt say truck bed. A truck bed is "outside" the vehicle.
There is another difference which I already covered 3 posts up, which you can scroll up and read again instead of me quoting it.
