you guys every have any piston slap in your subies on cold mornings? mine has started lightly knocking during warmup in the morning since it's gotten real cold at night. not a death rattle or a rod bearing, but it could be the t-belt tensioner, which i've heard is another thing that could make that type of noise. once the car is warm it goes away but it still bothers me despite hearing that it's a "subaru thing." pistons shouldn't be floppin around all nimbly-bimbly in the cylinders!
car still makes great power, returns 28-30 mpg and doesn't use any more oil than usual so i doubt it's anything pressing, i guess?
i'll probably make an appointment with the dealer and leave the car overnight with them just to have them confirm that they hear the same thing....might come in handy later
