As for the external flashes... I'm mostly an outdoors shooter so I've never seen a need to purchase one.

The only time I don't use a flash outside is if I'm shooting landscape or architecture.

I've heard of fill flash but have never researched into it. I feel it could help tremendously but I have a lot of basic learning to go before I move onto a setup like this. I appreciate that link though Apoc, good read.
