Yep they sure do. I bought a $60 pocket knife there and bent the tip on it about 4 days later doing something you should never do with a knife, try to pry something. Definantely the most expensive and least effective prying tool you can buy. But anyways I just told them I bought it as a gift for my brother and when he opened it the tip was bent. Took it to customer service and they gave me a gift card. Went back to the sporting goods and talked guns/knives with the guy behind the counter for about twenty minutes and he ended up scanning his employee discount card for me. Got my $60 knife for $52 and used the rest on beer.

But back to Mikes topic, that is definantely lame of Microsoft. It does make sense that your warranty should start over again after you have to send it back.
