So Samantha surprised me with an XBOX 360 Elite with Forza 3 and Halo 3 (I guess as a thank you since I bought her a Kindle). After she gave it to me we went to bestbuy and I picked up the HDMI cord, another controller and the wireless docking/charging station. Hooked it up to the new LCD tv I bought last week (some of you probably already know I'm typically about 5 years behind the technology curve....pushrods...) and it looks incredible! I created a gamertag earlier, MMLS1, but haven't bought the Gold membership or messed with the online stuff much. I've been out of the gaming circle for a few years now.

Just thought I'd give ya'll my gamertag so you can look for me on sometime in one of those games. I'm sure I'll be buying other games soon, but that's the only two I currently have. Are there any other products you guys would recommend picking up? Whether it be games or products to make it easier/more fun.

Ryan you need to get the Call of Duty games. I would also recommend Assassin's Creed 2, Resident Evil and Fable 2 if you like roleplaying games. I would recommend renting games before you buy them though, it saves you a lot of money and time.

Been playing the Halo Reach beta for the last two days and it's definitely more fun than Halo 3. Pros and cons:

+The armor abilities add a new dimension and a lot more strategic options to gameplay
+All of the weapons sound way better. The assault rifle is now actually satisfying to use because it sounds a lot better. Grenade explosions now have a pronounced THUMP to them. They're significantly more powerful too
+Matchmaking is faster and smoother. Maps load faster and votes go faster. Partying up with friends is really easy now
+New Covy Slayer and Headhunter game types are a lot of fun
+Elites are pretty badass. The Evade armor ability is a lot of fun and makes them pretty tricky to kill
+New power weapons and even the BR replacement require finesse to use properly. None of the new power stuff gives you cheap kills
+Even with all of the new stuff the game is still well balanced. There's only one weapon that might need to be nerfed (the plasma grenade launcher)
+Assasinations are pretty fun if you can do one of the better ones like the neck snap

-Graphics are improved but it isn't a large improvement
-Needs more assasination animations. Doing the same assasination over and over gets old

I'm gonna be sad when they turn the beta off. It's already more polished, balanced and less frustrating that MW2 was when it got released.

EDIT: If anyone wants to play the beta on live lemme know. I'm gonna be playing the shit out of it for the next 2 weeks.

I bought fallout3 and some batman arkam asylum game to spend a bestbuy gift card..anyone play through them? falllout3 seems fun from what I can tell so far

i played a good bit of fallout3. awesome game, but i always lose interest about 3/4 of the way through adventure-style games.

Fallout: New Vegas is just as awesome as the first. It's so overwhelming how much there is to do in the game. I was debating on this game, Medal of Honor or Star Wars Force II. I knew as soon as CoD comes out in a week that I would never pick up MoH again and I heard the Force II was way too short and not worth the $60. FNV should keep me busy when I get bored of Halo and CoD multiplayer.
