His rain riding is weak, if you look at his lap times compared to others they were crap. He was, on average, like 7 seconds per lap slower than Melandri after the bike exchange. He also said in post race interviews that Tamada's original bike was left right in front of his rain bike, so when he came in to pit he couldn't get out until Tamada's mechanics moved his unmanned bike.
Poor bastard got lapped by a Suzuki, that should never happen.
