New Guy - Nicholas - NAMarsilio - 09-08-2011 Hi my name is Nicholas Marsilio (NAMarsilio). I'm going to be graduating in 2014!! yeah go sophomores haha. My car back home is a '95 3.25 BMW with everything stock except for the speakers and radio. I'm slowly getting into cars and want to learn more about them. I'm a history major and i'm really looking forward to this year. Re: New Guy - Jake - 09-08-2011 Welcome to MM! How many pedals does the 325 have? Post some pix if you get a chance. They're good cars to learn to work on, and pretty reliable once everything is sorted out. I'm sure someone has a PDF of a Bentley manual that could be forwarded on if you and others need it. Hope to see you out at some events soon! Re: New Guy - caa337 - 09-09-2011 Welcome Nick! Hope you can make it to the autocross later this month to get a ride from someone. Re: New Guy - Nicholas - NAMarsilio - 09-09-2011 Its an automatic but still reliable haha. I would love to learn how to drive a stick though. And I will definitely try to get some pics up. Some fun facts for you on that automatic trans, since I'm bored at work: It's a General Motors design that was manufactured in France, originally for Opel and brought to America for the Chevette in teh 1970s. And now it's in your German car. The trans was originally a three-speed, but GM added an overdrive and some electronics to it in the post-Chevette years to get your fourth gear. It's the same trans as an automatic E34 525i, Cadillac Catera and several Isuzu trucks. They're pretty reliable transmissions, as long as you check the fluid level and service it every 30k or so. My buddy has a 95 525iA (same trans) with about 210k on the odometer, no issues.
