How do you classify this incident? - Kaan - 05-17-2010

So on my way to work this morning (on Stuart Mill Road in Oakton), Bambi and her friend jumped over a fence and landed about 10 feet infront of me. One was in my lane, one was on the the double yellows. Needless to say i hit the one in my lane. I kept on the throttle, kept the bike straight, and threw Bambi to the side of the road. I am fine... the bike needs a couple parts... and i never hit the ground.

is this a wreck?

ps- anyone got 99-02 R6 parts laying around? i didnt think so.

i feel like it's an accident, but very minor. thankfully this was all that happened with a deer encounter while on your moto Confusedhock:

good job keeping it on two wheels

im freaking impressed you stayed on the bike despite hitting a freaking deer. Most people dont even make it in a car wihtout swerving off road.

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Dave - 05-17-2010

also quite impressed that you kept it upright. I prob wouldn't bother reporting it to insurance, unless it's some serious damage and you're not worried about premiums going up. Sounds more like a flesh wound than anything...

Re: How do you classify this incident? - stevegula - 05-17-2010

PM me with a list of what parts you need.

Re: How do you classify this incident? - ViPER1313 - 05-17-2010

Did you get an accident report to claim for insurance? You are always supposed to call it in after you hit a deer. Also, did you keep the deer - the bike probably tenderized it quite a bit, and jerky is tasty.

Sorry to hear it though, really glad you are OK - it's amazing you stayed on the bike.

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Kaan - 05-17-2010

I"m more pissed at the parts i have to replace... and that fact that i've been using it as my main form of transportation. Wink i'll miss my $18/week for gas and HOV ride every day...

hopefully steve has some of the parts, because it will be at least a week with shipping that i'll be trapped in a car!

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Kaan - 05-17-2010

i just have liability on the bike... Headlights are going for about $250, fairing stay is $80, clip ons and levers are cheap... at least i didnt break the $50 light bulbs in the headlights Wink

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Mike - 05-17-2010

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Kaan - 05-17-2010

"Accident: A collision involving an automobile and anything that causes damage to the automobile"

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Mike - 05-17-2010

so what's the reason for asking the question if you only have liability? just curious if you WOULD have been covered if you had accident? yes.

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Kaan - 05-17-2010

Wink since i didnt hit the ground, i chalk it up to something like dropping the bike... Sylvia on the other hand... said i had "another" wreck.

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Apoc - 05-17-2010

I don't really understand the options, unless we're debating the semantics of it.

IMO, all those options place fault on you and that's not really what happened.

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Steve85 - 05-18-2010

It's all about asking the right questions...

Did Bambi have a fender?

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Kaan - 05-18-2010

Ironically, last night a guy said he would be interested in swapping semi straight up... my R6 reapaired in "track bike" condition for a 2000 Honda 929. we are going to tire kick over the next couple of days... I'll let oyu know what happens Wink

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Mike - 06-02-2010

Kaan, your bike looks like shit.

Re: How do you classify this incident? - Kaan - 06-02-2010

looks like shit... but it works... how is your bike running these days? Wink

the more it looks like shit... the less people want to steal it.
