Shanna M. - Lov3myDC2 - 11-19-2009 Hey! My name is Shanna and I'm a freshman here at JMU. I've been surrounded by car lovers since I was younger, so I was bound to end up in the car scene sooner or later. I started off with a '92 Honda Accord for my 16th birthday. I quickly fell in love with the integra body style and picked up a '99 vsm LS auto (ahh). I then got bored and learned 5speed so I sold the LS and purchased a 2000 flamenco black pearl GSR 12 hours away in florida! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() traded my slips for a different set of wheels.. kosei k1s. 15x7 silvers. i hope to start auto-x'ing and these only weigh 13.5lbs each. i actually want to trade for a set of rpf1s or sa90s in the near future. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Attended a few meets and shows-- MIR shows, UMD annual car show, C-I meets... (new ITR axleback) ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm an active member on other forums such as hondatech, vadriven, clubintegra, teamintegra, and nwp4life, and I hope to do the same on here. My future plans are: oem itr lip- christmas suspension build up: itr sway, asr subframe, koni yellow/gc, new bushings, etc. --many other bolt ons, too many to list. i eventually want to run out my b18c1 and buy a b18c or even a k swap. Re: Shanna M. - Maengelito - 11-19-2009 black DC2 with Kosei K1's, its like a trip down memory lane... except I had white ones and it was an LS... but still awesome! RJ, do you still have that pic of my Kosei's with the bling y0! brake dust? Re: Shanna M. - Lov3myDC2 - 11-19-2009 yeah i originally wanted white but i couldn't pass up the offer to trade my rotas for these. although im getting bored and want my sa90s
Re: Shanna M. - Jake - 11-19-2009 Welcome to MM! We have one final meeting the week after break, not sure if you've been to one before or not, my memory sucks. Anyway, PM me your email address and I'll add you to the mailing list. PS, whenever you want to get rid of the Koseis, hit me up. I want them and they're the right lug pattern for my car

Re: Shanna M. - Dave - 11-19-2009 Nice Integra, welcome to the club! Re: Shanna M. - JustinG - 11-19-2009 welcome to the club, and congrats on getting into JMU, whats your major? Re: Shanna M. - D_Eclipse9916 - 11-19-2009 Good stuff, Koseis are never a bad choice for autocrossing. Although RPF1s are gorgeous.... I had a set of SA90s and if I remember right they were pretty heavy. Looks like you got the right ideas for suspension, whta is your name on all the other forums? Re: Shanna M. - HAULN-SS - 11-19-2009 haha..that fuckin' oil is going everywhere! Re: Shanna M. - Steve85 - 11-19-2009 Welcome to the club. Nice car, perfect ride height, great wheel choice. I am also biased with a stock silver 99 LS 5spd (I think, I don't know the trim level, has LS motor). I did my first autox a couple months ago and it was blast in that car. What suspension is on your car now? I like the ride height, a lot. Re: Shanna M. - Lov3myDC2 - 11-19-2009 thanks everyone! my major is undeclared as of now but i switched to a pre-professional (pre-veterinary medicine) so that i could take bio this coming semester w/out having a major. i'm probably going to switch to biology the fall of my sophomore year. and my current suspension is just the eibach pro kit. i'd like to go a little bit lower and get coilovers such as the koni/gc set up. i definitely need to replace my bushings because every bump i go over i squeak. and yeah, the sa90s are heavy but i love them... but rpf1s would be a better choice for track. maybe one day ill be able to afford 2 sets of wheels ![]() edit:: and my name on other forums is usually teggygrl08 and on team integra it's acurace. Re: Shanna M. - Sijray21 - 11-19-2009 welcome! learning to drive a manual transmission, travelling to Florida to pick up your car, and active online? you'll fit in just fine here. btw - this post makes me miss my '98 FBP integra RS i had for a few years ![]() All i can say is that the integra is a great platform for auto-x and hpde's! I tracked it several times on a few tracks as well as my '99 Si i had a while ago. Great momentum cars with the ones housing VTEC getting that extra 'umph' to not lose too much speed on the straights. shameless link (my old integra): http://mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7575&p=152715&hilit=Integra#p152715 Lov3myDC2 Wrote:i'd like to go a little bit lower and get coilovers such as the koni/gc set up. i can definitely say this set-up is worth it. i bought mine used from Brian (Maengelito) and despite the miles on the set-up it still performed well. a picture of the ride-height i used is in the link above and even with the 500# springs on all four corners it was still fairly comfortable with the Koni's set to near-full soft. Re: Shanna M. - Steve85 - 11-19-2009 Lov3myDC2 Wrote:and my current suspension is just the eibach pro kit. Good to hear, that's what have in the garage waiting for installation. No plans to go all out while it's my commuter. I'll get my kit on then we'll have to hit an autox before you do anything else for a little friendly head-to-head competition. Re: Shanna M. - balactm - 11-19-2009 welcome to the club! this club needs more honda anyways.... Re: Shanna M. - xvxax - 11-19-2009 Welcome! I really need to make one of these introductions Re: Shanna M. - Lov3myDC2 - 11-19-2009 Sijray21-- nice rs and nice ride height! that's why i love that set up so much. and yes vtec definitely does kick in and help out on the corners we had a bit of fun up on skyline drive with my Club Integra meet. and Steve85-- i'll hopefully learn a bit and then auto x haha i want to so bad and i want to take my teg out there while it's semi-stock so that i can get a real feel for it before i start suspension modding.
Re: Shanna M. - rezarxt - 11-22-2009 Oh god biology....never again for me. Hopefully you will have better luck with it haha Car looks really clean. I like it. Re: Shanna M. - Lov3myDC2 - 11-22-2009 ^yeah... i'm a bit nervous. but we'll see how it goes. and thanks!! Re: Shanna M. - Dave - 11-22-2009 Lov3myDC2 Wrote:^yeah... i'm a bit nervous. but we'll see how it goes. and thanks!!I majored in Biology and Finance; Bio is definitely the tougher route. That said, it is a good precursor degree for a Pre-Vet route and by the time you take all the recommended courses you'll probably be really close to the major/minor anyways. One thing I would HIGHLY recommend is that if you're serious about Pre-Vet, go meet with somebody at a Vet school now (VT?) and establish a connection with them. Find out how they view a non-Bio major applying to their school and what they recommend that you do if you want to go that route. They may serve as a great resource in the future and getting the advice as a freshman can be a huge help in determining the courses you want to take in your college career. I wish I had done that... Edit: I'll be happy to share what little wisdom I have in this area, as I wish I'd had somebody to point me in the right direction when I was a freshman. |
