September 27 - Skyline Drive to Woodstock - Jake - 09-07-2009
After a great trip last fall, we're doing the Skyline Drive cruise again!
When: September 27.
Where:
If you are driving from JMU, meet us at the Rockingham Hall parking lot around 10:45. We will be leaving promptly at 11.
We will be heading east on Route 33 to pick up Skyline, then heading north on Skyline to Front Royal. From Front Royal, we'll go west on Route 11 and finally, south to Woodstock.
Why Woodstock?
It's more than just a Wal-Mart and a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer :thumbup: It's also where our famed, Turbo-Van-experienced alumni Jeff lives! He's graciously allowed us to return this year for another BBQ at his swanky house. We will probably arrive between 2 and 3 PM.
Cost / Food / Etc
It's $15 per car to drive on Skyline. Make sure to have some cash with you. People wanting rides... you don't have to, but it's always nice to cover some of the $15 fee as a rider. Just sayin'.
We need MMers to provide some things to make this happen. Things like... Sodas. Chips. Paper plates. Cups. Forks. Napkins. Please reply in this thread to say what you're bringing, that way we don't get 23 bags of chips and nothing else.

If you are interested in going - please let us know! We have a new registration system for events like these... so if you are Driving, Needing a Ride, or just meeting us at Jeff's (any alumni?!), click here or visit <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mmsports.org/registration">www.mmsports.org/registration</a><!-- w -->. You will get a message when you have registered - but you don't need to pay via PayPal or look for a confirmation email. That stuff isn't working just yet.
Anyway, please register so Jeff has a valid head-count and knows how much food to purchase.

Come on fools it will be a good time! If anyone has a good racing game and a wheel for the PS3 that might be cool! Other then that its pretty much food and chillin. Last time we had a hell of a crowd.

I'll be there (for the cruise part). I might not come to the BBQ because Front Royal is about 20 mins from my house so I'll just drop off there and visit home.

An update!
Unfortunately, our dear friend Jeff has had some scheduling conflicts pop up. So... we will be postponing this until a later date when more people can drive, and when Jeff can host.
We're thinking about September 27th - a Sunday - but need to know if you can make it. Reply back and let us know!

Why not wait until Oct-Nov? The fall foliage on Skyline is supposed to be awesome from late October through early November.

It def is gorgeous up there in those months, used to go up there and cruise with family every couple of years.
