What did I buy? - Scott - 03-14-2009

Any guess to what I bought today?

I see the following attributes: old, double wishbone, 4 cyl, RWD, mikuni carbs, hydraulic clutch, non-crossflow head, and a pretty beefy frame.

It is not a BMW 2002 or Datsun 510, so I'm gonna guess something British. An Alfa or Triumph would be my guess, but I'm not really knowledgeable on their models. The frame makes me think it's something American though...

I spotted an inline 6, makes me think of an old school jeep but I dont know anything about them.

- Mike - 03-15-2009

i see dave's 4-cyl and raise it by two Tongue

i have no ideas.

Inline six. Small displacement. NO way it's a jeep. Double wishbone suspension plus the weird lay out of clutch and brake master cylinders makes me think it's a sports car. Plus it's Scott, so it's a sportscar and if it's scott, then it must be british but where is the small electrical fire?

Very cool looking car, can we get some more details?

- Ginger - 03-16-2009

Yeah - where it pop up? It looks like it's been sitting in a sand dune for 20 years.... looks like it may be rust free, too? Very cool. Is it running?

- Scott - 03-16-2009

it came from the storage area that my Dad and a couple friends have rented for 20+ years that is now getting torn down. I was getting my couple of cars out, and the owner of the GT6, ask if I wanted it for a price I couldn't refuse. I don't know a lot about it, but it's all original, no rust, and the motor is free.

It almost doesn't matter what you paid, you got a great deal.

And I know you said the engine's free, but it needs one of these:

That is great! My mom has a 73 TR6 and it is a really cool car. The GT6 is even better!

I have a '76 and it's a great car. It has also been mostly trouble free
