Found: Toyota MR2 + Ultimate Carputer - Jake - 09-12-2008 I'm sure y'all have seen the "MP3yourCar" type of forums where people stuff a small PC or Mac Mini under their dash with a touchscreen, replacing the head unit and doing all sorts of cool, hack-job, sort of stuff. Check out this Toyota MR2 from Germany... he needs to lose the blingy rims, but it's definitely intriguing overall. Clicky - Jeff - 09-12-2008 Why would someone willingly put something that even remotely resembles i-drive into their car? Other then that its freakin badass. - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-12-2008 I like it, if it was completely touchscreen that would be the shit! - stevegula - 09-12-2008 that is pretty damn awesome. Very Star Trekkie with the user interface. - Evan - 09-12-2008 Visual Basic? MASSIVE FAIL - WRXtranceformed - 09-12-2008 In agreeance with Evan:
- HAULN-SS - 09-12-2008 it looks like physics failed in that picture too..how is that green one not in the ocean? VB isn't alllll bad. It's really good for hooking into windows and other applications to make leet progs for AOL, etc - ViPER1313 - 09-12-2008 WRXtranceformed Wrote:In agreeance with Evan: If you want to see a real fail boat check out the latest issue of Car & Driver - 4700 new Mazda's involved. - Ginger - 09-12-2008 Every time I see that picture I get interested in what happened. I did some research and came up with a maritime shipping disasters page run by some folks in cargo law: http://www.cargolaw.com/2007nightmare_ital.florida.html (you have to scroll way down) They have links to TONS of other disasters that are pretty damn amusing. *edit* the containers that look like they should be in the ocean aren't because they are "lashed" together. I assume this is a special cargo form of lashing, and not a fancy version of what I've done with ropes and sticks. They're unsure of whether the containers were lost due to improper loading/securing or foul weather, or both. The ship encountered surge of up to 17,6 meters while at sea. The disaster that Adam referred to is also on the page - I'm having a hard time re-locating it. This one also makes fail posts frequently: http://www.cargolaw.com/2007nightmare_marquis.ride.html - Ginger - 09-12-2008 Found it - disaster of the Courgar Ace: http://www.cargolaw.com/2008nightmare_jeppesen.html - Ginger - 09-12-2008 This one takes the cake: http://www.cargolaw.com/2008nightmare_jeppesen.html It's another tower-topple, but the icing is that three months after the topple, they nearly ran into another ship during fair weather with good visibility! Seriously, time to start firing people! - Maengelito - 09-12-2008 all those wasted parts that were not overnighted from japan... *sigh* - Ginger - 09-12-2008 cargolaw.com Wrote:A Conservative Estimate Is That Over 10,000 Containers Go Overside Cargo Vessels Each Year. - WRXtranceformed - 09-12-2008 Wow that seems like a lot, you think they'd have it down by now. - balactm - 09-12-2008 that shit makes me sick. that doesn't belong in an mr2. that and those wheels are ugly as hell. - A350Zisa - 09-15-2008 gahahaha the rear tires look like they need the veilside version III body kit with over fenders. cool project though |
