MM Fantasy Football II - Hunter - 08-06-2008

So it's the time of year again to rekindle the productivity stealing MM fantasy football league. I just renewed the league on yahoo and if you are interested go ahead and sign up.

I set the draft for September 1 at 8:30 pm, but we can move that around as needed.

PS. Maybe I won't get my ass kicked by Feersty this year if I draft Farve in the 1st round.

SO INNNNNNNN!

no one else? is anyone even doing the draft tonight? Tongue

- Feersty - 09-01-2008

I am ready for the draft. Nine minutes away.

- Feersty - 09-01-2008

Hey, draft settings says autopick. So does that mean we don't need to be on Yahoo! to choose players? I left my fiancee's house early so I would be on the computer in time to draft players, now it seems like the players are going to be chosen for us? What da heck is up with that?

- Maengelito - 09-01-2008

you can rank players according to priority in which you want to pick them. looks like we need one more before our league can get off the ground. we can't have odd numbers of teams.

- Feersty - 09-01-2008

ah.

- Hunter - 09-01-2008

Yea it didn't like the odd number of teams very much. I thought that it would work fine and one team would just have a bye each week or something but apparently that's not the case.

So, anyone else want to play?

a league of 6? weak.

i would prefer if we tried to do a live draft.

Me too. I am in another league and we had ours last night. It was fun.

- WRXtranceformed - 09-02-2008

Not interested in joining another league, but my one and only draft was yesterday while I had to help my buddy move to freaking Raleigh. Fortunately my buddy's little brother is a fantasy guru and picked for me. Wow I'm glad I let him do it, my team is stacked!

Starters:
Hasselbeck
Schaub
LT
Edgerinn James
TO
Coles
Santonio Holmes
Reggie Brown
Dallas Clark
Titans defense
Shayne Graham

Great success.

- Apoc - 09-02-2008

Your QBs are marginal, at best.

- WRXtranceformed - 09-02-2008

Ha are you kidding me, Hasselbeck put up 521 points last season and is projected for close to the same this year Tongue Schaub is projected for 400+ this year. There are only 5 other QBs who were ranked higher than Hasselbeck on the ESPN list that I was looking at.

TO and LT should make up the difference anyhow Wink

We tried to do a live draft, but it shut us down because we had an odd number of teams, if no one else wants to join I'll just change the league to a non head to head league and reschedule the draft.

- Apoc - 09-02-2008

Most things I've read have said Hasselholf is going to have a sub par year. I had him last year and he was a disappointment compared to projections and some think he'll do even worse this year.

He loses D.J. Hackett as a free agent to Carolina, Deion Branch to a knee injury and Bobby Engram to a shoulder injury. Hasselbeck injures his back, and now Ben Obomanu has a broken clavicle. Who is he going to throw to?

But Hasselbeck's hot stats last year were a direct result from the Seahawks' ineffective running attack, something that's been corrected for '08. Additionally, Seattle's receiving corps has dwindled this offseason, especially with WR Deion Branch expected to miss several games rehabbing from a torn ACL and Bobby Engram out with a shoulder injury to start the season. Hasselbeck has the ability to pass for 22-plus touchdowns and close to 3,500 yards every season, but don't expect him to repeat his 2007 feat. He's a low-end No. 1 Fantasy QB worth a pick between Rounds 7 and 8.

He went round 9, as a backup, in my high dollar league.
He went round 10, as a backup, in my work league.

- WRXtranceformed - 09-02-2008

You wait and see! Brees, Romo, Brady, Peyton, big Ben and Palmer all went in the first and second round. I had first pick so I got last pick on the best QBs Sad All things considered it should work out fine.

- Feersty - 09-02-2008

I ended up with Dang Ocho Cinco. God help him. I did get Dallas Clark for my TE. My QBs are Drew Breesie and Brett the Jet.

if you don't get one of the top couple, they're all the same. IMO, his are betetr than average.
