For a few weeks. From Hyperfest to late July for our Road trip:
1) A inverter that could power a laptop.
2) A GPS nav thingy
The inverter should be exclusively used for our laptops and the nav would only be used as a backup should we find ourselves lost in the badlands our some other random unpopulated areas in the northern half of our country.
It would return shipped in some baller UPS/FedEx box with plenty of foam type insulation and should we damage it or break it or a bear eats it, we would replace it or give you equivalent cash compensation. Let us know. Thanks.

really? I thought the gps things were like 500 bucks and the good inverters were north of 150? Can you guys give me links to a good GPS and inverter?

Bought my inverter at a truck stop for $40. It is a very good unit made by Cobra (I think). GPS was $300 2 years ago.

Nah, not one to run a laptop. Now something to run a blender or electric drill maybe. Hell My dad got one to run an air conditioner in his fork lift, that sucker was expensive! Also you can get GPS's cheap online at amazon.

I have a 300 watter and it runs laptops JUST FINE.
That took me all of 30 seconds to search for GPS and Inverter, so now you are a lazy asian jew.

I've found that most Garmin things are good. If you don't gots one in the car and you're going to driving cross country and living in a new city, $160 is definitely worth it.

I bought Linds a Garmin Nuvi 350 for her birthday off Amazon. She loves it and it got great reviews. Plus, if its electronic and I bought it, you KNOW it wasn't that expensive (in the realm of things).

So what's the ideal Garmin model? I liked MM's camera recommendation and am really happy about the Canon 870IS so tell me which model you would want. Keep in mind that we're not going to be using this very much. Ideally, we're not going to use the GPS during our roadtrip. I only want it if we're totally lost in bear country or some junk like that.
