Same here. Last year I went to drive a WRX, 100% serious about MAYBE buying it. I wanted to drive. They wouldn't even go get plates unless I sat down with a salesman, gave my income info, and talked abotu my EMPLOYMENT history.

I told them politely to go fuck themselves.

It's weird though, me and dave went to dick around at teh Chrysler dealership, and we asked to drive an SRT-4...and the dude just went and got the keys.

Undecided

Maybe I'll take mom with me. I want to drive the new legacy. Julie thinks its sexy. I think it's sexy. Good family car.

i'll keep this in mind the next time I need a b00st fix.

Some of the dealers are real assholes when it comes to test drives. When I bought my WRX one dealer said there was no way I could test drive it (i left) the other tossed me the keys as soon as I walked on the lot (i bought it). Moral of the story just gotta find the right dealer.

Printed and gonna go soon. If I like it I may buy it, who knows... I think the styling is a bit bland though.

just got back from the suby dealer in c'ville. i got to drive the legacy gt but in auto/sport shift. Sad its hard to be objective and you have to understand that this car is probably not built for people who have as strong a bias towards "performance" as most MMer's do, but it was still a smooth ride.

my initial impressions were favorable. the car looks pretty good, the interior is plush and comfortable. it's ovbiously slower than the STi, but i gotta admit, its still fairly quick. its got a bit of turbo lag which could be attributed to the auto tranny and it didn't kick you in the pants like the STi does, but it still pulls hard relative to say other "regular" sedans such as an accord or camry. the handling and braking also weren't on par with the STi, but still were pretty good compared to say my integra, even though its a lot heavier than christina.

overall, i liked the car, and its something i'd definitely consider getting over an accord or camry, but i'd have to drive the manual before really having a good feel for it.

on another note, they had an '05 STi there (grey/silver) which is their new color. i personally didn't like the color that much, but the interior i think is a lot better than the 04's. there was also a used 04 STi (black/gold... my second fav color combo) there too if anyone's interested.

Hey Maeng... we saw someone in one of the new Legacys almost T-bone another driver on Hydraulic Road yesterday afternoon. Wasn't you, was it? Wink

I'm all about hitting up the dealership, but it is disappointing that they only have the auto/sport shift. Boo. Sad

Maeng did they do a credit check on you? Did they ask you if you had credit?

didnt ask any of that... just got the keys and drove... i think it kinda depends on the dealer and salesperson though
