Possibility of a CCVT/MM drag day? - DRYFT - 08-14-2006 Im just posting what I posted on CCVT... just apply it to you guys lol. I definetly think it would be a great event for the clubs to get to know each other. Doesnt have to be super competitive. Natural Bridge is a good halfway point and Im sure theyll rent it out to us for the day. I know you guys arent really into drag but neither is CCVT for the most part, it would just be good to get some interclub relations going. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey everyone Ive been talking to a couple MM guys here about the possibility of a Drag Day at Nattie Bridge. Seeing what interest there would be. Basically to avoid the car wreck that was the CCVT vs CAV event, we should get there early get the grill goin and chat, eat for an hour or two. Check out cars THEN stage and get things going. So we would atleast meet everyone face to face and talk before racing. Also to avoid "cheating" issues that arose last time like alum running, we could simply set up two race brackets, current students and alumni. I think this could be great since the schools are only an hour and a half apart and we could chill/party/race together. MM guys are cool like us (two are working for me lol) and would DEF get along with us (AKA race->drink->party->repeat) Lets get this going for late September. Thoughts? - HAULN-SS - 08-14-2006 im down. - .RJ - 08-14-2006 Just curious, since I dont think I'd make the long drive down there and nothing to drag race, but how is Alumni participating count as cheating? I think there are current students that have a lot more drag experience than most of the alums, I've had a total of 3 drag passes ever and I wasnt very good at it
- Ginger - 08-14-2006 OG vs Current Students? That would actually kick some royal ass, Forget bracket racing, though - we'll just run ET's... and I know what I'm bringing!

- Ginger - 08-14-2006 Mother Goose, you pussy! - .RJ - 08-14-2006 Yep, I knew that was coming. - DRYFT - 08-14-2006 .RJ Wrote:Just curious, since I dont think I'd make the long drive down there and nothing to drag race, but how is Alumni participating count as cheating? I agree its not cheating. I only mentioned it since uva (cav) called cheating on us since we had a couple of our alum running. I assume they meant cheating since alum have more disposable income? I don't honestly know. We could do it straight up, whatever. Hopefully competition won't be emphasized at this event but moreover just hanging out meeting the other club. - .RJ - 08-14-2006 DRYFT Wrote:I only mentioned it since uva (cav) called cheating on us since we had a couple of our alum running. - HAULN-SS - 08-14-2006 Bracket racing is really the fairest way anyway. We dont all have the same class of vehicle. Need to get the one that's dialed in as a driver the most, and the car that's predictable. - ViPER1313 - 08-14-2006 .RJ Wrote:DRYFT Wrote:I only mentioned it since uva (cav) called cheating on us since we had a couple of our alum running. All I can say is I didn't enjoy competing against Z06s and Elises at the CCVT vs CAV vs MM autoX battle........ - Ginger - 08-14-2006 HAULN-SS Wrote:Bracket racing is really the fairest way anyway. - Evan - 08-15-2006 this alum is going to drag my trailer queen in to run some killer 17 second passes! whats up now bitches! fuck drag racing, where is the autoX battle? - Nis01 - 08-15-2006 I would be interested. Its always nice to meet up with other groups of car enthusiasts. - G.Irish - 08-15-2006 ViPER1313 Wrote:All I can say is I didn't enjoy competing against Z06s and Elises at the CCVT vs CAV vs MM autoX battle........ :?: That's what PAX is for. If they beat you it's not because their car is faster, its because you didn't drive as well. Yeah I think this could be a cool event and I doubt you'll run into any whining and complaining from us, alumni or not. - Andy - 08-15-2006 I'd be down. All 135 BHP. Seems like a good way for alums to interact with current students as well. I doubt I know more than 5-7 current students as it is. - Dave - 08-19-2006 I'd be very interested, depending when it is. I've had a grand total of one drag pass and I hated the event that I did it at, since it was a massive clusterfuck. However if the two clubs went together and it was just us, I bet it would be a lot of fun. As stated before, this would also be awesome time for current students and alums to get together, regardless of whether either bring cars. - Rbadboy21 - 08-21-2006 How far is the drive the the drag location? If not too far, I would be interested in going. I always wondered what my 160hp 40mpg Camry would do in the 1/4 . 22 seconds @ 65mph?? LOLRyan |
