SPDIF ftw!

SPDIF lets you input from any digital audio source, and the conversion to an analog sound signal doesnt take place until the signal gets to the sound card. This is pretty much a must have for any kind of recording or ripping..and is good for outputting too.
Most higher-end DVD Players have them, and most of the population has no idea what it's for.

I have the sigmaTel 6 channel card. 20 bit full duplex, headphone drive support, up to 5 general purpose input/outputs, +- 90dB signal to noise ratio...pretty awesome stuf

SPDIF has been around for quite a few years btw, and
ill take an optical toslink connection over the typical RCA style SPDIF connectors

I have the Revo 7.1 - all SPDIFs are not alike, as many sound cards resample the audio to 48k before its final I/O state regardless of what the sample rate of the output/recording is (M-Audio cards don't 8) ) .

Just to start a flame, Creative cards are crap sound quality wise, especially for music playback :roll: .
