The (Other) Eclipse under construction - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-27-2005

Corny title, I know. Anyway, Finally got the parts in that I need to do my turbo install. I was wondering if anyone could allow me to borrow their drill and "porting kit" so that I can modify my oil drain and also port my 02 housing and 2g manifold.

Also, if anyone considers this shit fun, like I do. PM me if you want to help, its always more fun with people helping. Its the porting the manifold and housing that is gonna take a while.

Just putting this out there cuz I know I always look for othjer opportunities to help mmers.

You're welcome to my die grinder, but what are you doing to your oil drain?

the holes for the bolts need to be widened a little bit to fit the new turbo's bolts.

- Dave - 10-27-2005

So you need to widen your holes?

- Jeff - 10-27-2005

Won't a drill widen the holes?

- D_Eclipse9916 - 10-27-2005

yes a drill needs to widen the holes, but as I said in the post I need to port out my 02 housing and 2g manifold....

And it was a corny title cuz the post under it was... THE ECLIPSE is broke, and since I guess im not THE eclipse lol, just playing...

Captain Henreh, maybe I can borrow it for next week or something?

Sure. You can have your BOV back too.

A dremel would be good for the return line holes although I originally did mine with just a round metal file. I'm assuming your shit came with new return line gaskets...if not pick two up.

Do you have a carbide bit for the porting? Because I've never heard of anyone doing much without one.

Naw im picking up new return line gaskets when I go to advanced auto to pick up some other stuff in getting ready to do it. Captain Henreh do you have a carbide bit? Can I pick those up at Advanced Auto, I hate ordering things online....

- JustinG - 10-28-2005

ive got a 12volt drill at my APT, battery powered Ryobi. Dont really have any bits but you can borrow it if youd like

- D_Eclipse9916 - 10-28-2005

yeah im hoping the dremel will do it, otherwise ill hit you up..

- KPWSerpiente - 10-28-2005

A dremel will be fine. I doubt you can get a carbide bit at an autoparts store in the Hburg. Better check an industrial tools type place out.
