OK guys. Everybody is getting new cars and I'm getting jealous. Not to mention that I'm getting a little bit bored with it too. I'm pretty sure that I'll be selling it soon. I wanted to see what everybody thinks I should get. Whatever I get will be serving as my daily driver and track car. These are the options I'm looking into, from most expensive to least:
-05 mustang GT
-hardtop mkIV supra
-start 240z project (will probably put me out of being on track until a year from now, as will be a partial restoration and track buildup; also requires engine swap on my supra and purchase of a beater to drive to work)
-SRT4
-civic hatch
-subaru 2.5rs
-AWD DSM
-keep 240 and give it mo powa
I know it is a long list, but whatever; variety is the spice of life. They are all on my list of "cars that I want to drive on track someday". I'm also willing to hear other suggestions. As long as they are reasonable for everyday use (decent room and not totally abusive to drive) and don't cost more than $30k. Have at it gents!

Picking a track car...hum, well anything you pick you better enjoy working on it
Also, think about if you ever have any desire to race, if so, what class and would you really want to build your own 'race car' in 4-5 years.
oh and FWIW, like Ryan, I wouldn't track a $30k car that I just bought

i'd just stick with RWD man. you seem to work well with it. that being said, i think a mkIV would be cool...you already know what you're doing with it and the market for Supras is always ridiculous....it would probably still apreciate in value if you drove it into a wall.

just stick with the 240, it has plenty of power. When I see you r0llin shit in advanced group with it, then drop in some b00st but until then put your $$ into tracktime and seats/rollbar!

yeah, i'm just kinda throwing the new STi/EVO in the mix for fun. We all know I'm not likely to get something that wild. I'll go ahead and delete those since they aren't really practical choices.
I don't really have a desire to race right now. I'd rather instruct. Plus, we all know I don't seem to be able to keep a car for more than a year without getting tired of it, so if I get something cheaper, then I could afford to get rid of it so I could race if I got the itch.

I'm with andy. SR Swap is easy, and would definitely breathe some life into the 240.

I thought about this one for a bit. I think you need something different. You have 2 RWD cars already, try something FWD for awhile. That being said, nothing new. I agree with Scott, you should not have a ÔÇÿnewÔÇÖ car Dave, its not you :lol:. Sooo, what to get??? Well, I would say a used SRT-whore but I know that wonÔÇÖt go over well, so consider that an under my breath thing. My real suggestion is a 1989-91 Spirit R/T. Why?! Well, in good-fair condition they pull down about $2000-3000 these days and are largely reliable until you start fooling with them (like any car).

My reasons-
- The R/T has the cool seats, and all the options
- 16V DOHC, 2.2L Turbo.
- The best 5-speed FWD transmission ever made for Chrysler. I think it has posi.
- 225hp in its stock state, makes 300 after a weekend of mods.
- 4-dr, huge trunk
- CHEAP and plentiful parts

And you get a big heavy 4-door fwd boosted box. I don't really think a Spirit is what he'd be in the market for. You know the Supra like the back of your hand, and another mkiv would be really hot, but at the same time you could save a lot of money just boosting the 240. My heart says supra but my mind says boosted 240.
