Self Intro - Atenza6i - 09-05-2005 Whats up guys, My name is Joash. Some of you might've met me at the Student Organization Night. I've been searching through the forums and it seems like you guys know your stuff and are pretty serious with cars. I used to be die hard car guy, not so much anymore. Regardless, I'm still interested in being somewhat involved. I can't afford to pay for tires so I doubt I can autox often. Still, I'd love to come out to track meets and autocrosses to watch. I just wanted to introduce myself and I look forward to meetin up with you guys. Just to open up, I drive a Mazda6i. -aem cai -rpm short throw shifter -grounded throttle body -eibach pro kit 1.4/1.5 -35% tint all around incl. headlights -debadged and side strips removed -tsx tips -falken ziex 512 225/45/17 this summer i ordered catack magnaflows but had to cancel 2 days in because i couldn't justify spending that much as i'm going into college. haha. same scenario for my friend's volk gramlight pro-c's that were sellin for $1000 for the set of 4. i'll try to make it out wednesday. see ya'll. - WRXtranceformed - 09-05-2005 Welcome. Enjoy the random drama that is Madison Motorsports! Kidding, we're a cool bunch of kids. Look forward to hearing more from you. - Myuki - 09-05-2005 hey, doesn't matter how die-hard you are, hope you enjoy it. - ScottyB - 09-05-2005 good to hear from you Joash. hope to see you at the events we tend. don't worry about the car situation....a few members do not even have cars but what is important is wanting to be involved and being willing to learn and have fun. alot of the events we attend/work at are very cool to simply be apart of. you'll learn much more from the meetings so i'll stop my rant nice car btw. mazda 6's are a car i've always admired, and it sounds like it looks pretty hot with the drop/tint. - lyltoy - 09-05-2005 gotta love the 6's being represented , my girl has a 6s five door, good all around car minus it being an AT, we actually just got it tinted and makes the car look a lot better...welcome to the club

Always good to have another face arround here, and hope to see you wednesday! - Feersty - 09-05-2005 Welcome man, you will find a lot of helpful knowledge here. Have a good time at the meeting! - Mike - 09-05-2005 howdy... 6i = 4cyl? sedan or 5-door? Re: Self Intro - .RJ - 09-05-2005 Atenza6i Wrote:-grounded throttle body What does this do? - Sijray21 - 09-05-2005 welcome!! :-D, we love new faces and enjoy having more people share the enthusiasm for motorsports i hope to see you at some events, i'll be at summit in sept and october and up for the weekend on most home games for football ps, i'm a big fan of mazda 6's :-D, friend has one and i like it (4cyl has some umph, i can imagine the 6cyl also has a nice drive to it!) here's a pic i took at summit, some of you may remember ![]() mazda6 at Turn 5 at summit: ![]() i believe the only thing done to this car was brake pads and fluid and he was QUICK - damnit458 - 09-05-2005 theguywiththeSi Wrote:i believe the only thing done to this car was brake pads and fluid and he was QUICK Damn quick. He rolled almost everybody in that group. Def a fun car to watch. Re: Self Intro - ViPER1313 - 09-06-2005 .RJ Wrote:Atenza6i Wrote:-grounded throttle body On the SHO it results in better throttle response and hotter ignition, as the DIS (ignition module) is located on the intake manifold and draws power from it, and the one ground cable that attaches the manifold to the frame sucks. Oh, and welcome to the club Joash  - .RJ - 09-06-2005 What if you fixed the ground thats supposed to be doing the work in the first place so its not all corroded and busted? - Ryan T - 09-06-2005 Welcome to MM man, your gonna have a blast. - ViPER1313 - 09-06-2005 .RJ Wrote:What if you fixed the ground thats supposed to be doing the work in the first place so its not all corroded and busted? What if you shut the hell up :finger: I never said they got corroded and busted. The wire is thin and the contact point sucks. By grounding to the block (where there is a 4ga ground connected directly from the battery to a bolt on the starter) the wire path is -> Battery - 4ga -> block -> 4ga (my addition) -> Intake MF Stock is -> Battery -> 12ga (rather thin) -> Chassis -> Shitty thin braded wire held on by M6 metal screw -> Intake MF - Atenza6i - 09-06-2005 haha thanks guys. yeah to be perfectly honest, the throttle body ground on my car does jack shiet. its a 15'' piece of 4ga battery cable that runs from the negative terminal to the throttle body. the 6 is obviously throttle-by-wire and there is definitely an annoying throttle lag. thus, people figured it might help. well, it didnt. i just took 2 seconds out of my day to install it and i'm too lazy to take it out, so it's in there as a "mod". - damnit458 - 09-06-2005 Atenza6i Wrote:i just took 2 seconds out of my day to install it and i'm too lazy to take it out, so it's in there as a "mod". Hes going to fit in here well. - CaptainHenreh - 09-06-2005 Atenza6i Wrote:the 6 is obviously throttle-by-wire and there is definitely an annoying throttle lag. TBW is a secret Illuminati conspiracy to make everything suck. In other news, welcome to MM! - Mike - 09-06-2005 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Atenza6i Wrote:the 6 is obviously throttle-by-wire and there is definitely an annoying throttle lag. agreed. i've never liked anything that i've driven that has TWB. |
