3/23/04 Meeting Recap - Mike - 03-24-2004 http://www.mmsports.org/meetings/2004_03_23_MM.ppt We announced the date of the PTG Tour to be April 23rd during the afternoon (1pm'ish). Elections: President (loser trickles to VP) - Chris Procopio - Hunter Brown VP - Travis Miller - Ryan Thayer Treasurer - Dave Allen - Chris Reed Secretary - Rob Feerst - Scott Bradford PR/Webmaster - John Varona The vote for my new leadership format proposal (President, Treasurer and then Chairmen of different event types) failed. There is interest in working VMP (especially from Dave) but every weekend is pretty busy for the rest of the semester, we'll try to find some summer dates that will work and go from there. Dave, Mike, and Travis plan on attending VMP, but Mike needs to find a rear seatbelt. The car show will end with a BBQ at Dave's house, and then a party in Olde Mill that night. I miss anything? - KPWSerpiente - 03-24-2004 Nope...I just found out that our band won't be making it that night. They're playing a gig that afternoon and are actually making money there so we're going to have to resort to blasting assorted party music all night long. -T - Dave - 03-25-2004 I'm sure that will be just fine. - Ryan T - 03-25-2004 Even without the band, the party should be kick ass. - Mike - 03-25-2004 Welp that's the thing. We may hold it at Dave/Seans anyway since there is ample parking behind their house, the BBQ will be there anyway, they are on very good terms with the cops and much less likely to be shut down than an apartment party. - G.Irish - 03-25-2004 Well guys if you're gonna do the party thing lets do it right. Don't wanna see a repeat of last time where the only girls to holla at were Sloth and her drunk, crying friend... Oh, and we need to get the stereo/music handled way beforehand too. - Evan - 03-25-2004 And get Street Fighter fixed!
- Kaan - 03-25-2004 so if the loser of the pres gets vp... why are people running for vp? - Maengelito - 03-25-2004 Evan Wrote:And get Street Fighter fixed! :!: MANDATORY :!: - Dave - 03-25-2004 some people don't want to be in charge of the club. For instance, I want to be involved in the elite circle of officers, however, I know that I don't have enough time to be the head of it all. Nor do I think that I have enough time to be the VP, whom I interpret to have his hands into everything, much like the Pres. For these reasons, I chose treasurer. I'm good playing with money and I'm involved, and I think that being treasurer would give me the chance to head up some pet projects, but at the same time not require me to attend everything or feel the need to be involved to the point of it being an even bigger part of my life. That said, MM does consume pretty much everything in my life other than JMU and sheetz, so with my decline in hours at work I can give MM more time . Ugh, I'm rambling. But it makes perfect sense to me

Although the infection seems to be getting worse, luckily I've been good enough to not miss a car payment or any other bill, so I think I'll be safe with the club since that's a whole seperate bank account. Although, if money gets tight during the 2J swap next winter, MM may be forced to make an impromptu loan to me.... NOT. - G.Irish - 03-25-2004 Kaan Wrote:so if the loser of the pres gets vp... why are people running for vp? I agree, doesn't quite make sense unless we're going to do the Co-VP thing again. I know the reason you're letting the loser of the presidency slide to VP is because you have more than one person that would be an asset as a leader. But, looking at things from a purely political/practical stand point we probably shouldn't do things that way. What do we do in the future when someone who we don't want running the club loses the presidency wants to be Co-VP? I suppose the problem will solve itself because even if someone crappy somehow gets in office they won't last long. On second though, carry on.
- Kaan - 03-25-2004 shouldnt everyone be running for prez in this system? - Mike - 03-26-2004 The "trickle" was voted upon at the meeting, no discussion is necessary. If you are against it then voice your opinion next year. |
