VIR close call - Maengelito - 06-27-2005 from honda-tech: http://www.charliegrafton.com/videos/viperattack.mp4 yowza, now there's a clincher... hock: I'm peeing on myself right now.
- ViPER1313 - 06-27-2005 I would have soiled myself multiple times after that hock:
- G.Irish - 06-27-2005 Holy crap! Not really much time to soil yourself on that one! - ScottyB - 06-27-2005 hock:
- Evan - 06-27-2005 I watched that happen from the clubhouse (T3) Very odd place for a spin, especially in an experienced group. The viper was definately insanely close to the bmw when it spun, I really thought it was going to be a t-bone - JackoliciousLegs - 06-28-2005 lol... i was like... ok, when's this guy gonna spin... then VOOOOOOM... lol... that woulda scared the jew out of me - Myuki - 06-28-2005 i think the guy said it the best. Holy shit. hock: and how'd he get into a spin at that place? - John - 06-28-2005 Myuki Wrote:i think the guy said it the best. Holy shit. Right after the kink there's a dip, and the Viper most likely initiated a hasty pass, wasn't smooth, and/or lifted. Oops... - G.Irish - 06-28-2005 I was just thinking that in a normal street car like my GS-R you're doing 110-115 through there. Unless you really snap off the throttle and jerk the wheel its not sweat. But with a Viper you're probably doing maybe 135-150...things turn to shit quick at that speed. - John - 06-28-2005 I'm guessing he was probably doing about 135 through there. I'm doing about 125-130 when I go through the kink, and the car definitely gets a bit unsettled in that dip right after the kink... - Mike - 06-28-2005 hrmph video doesn't work for me will try at home. sad face
- Sijray21 - 06-28-2005 Mike Wrote:hrmph video doesn't work for me i thought it was just me, doesn't work here either, i tried the .mp4 plug-in...no luck - BLINGMW - 06-28-2005 what compy/player do you use Mike? Didn't you have trouble with the hyperbitch vid too? You using bob's country brand movin' picture player on a 486? Hear of quicktime or windows media player? They're new, you should check 'em out. - Mike - 06-28-2005 quicktime, wmp, divx player, winamp suck on it. - Evan - 06-28-2005 try renaming it to .avi what is confusing, is that if he lifted, he should have rotated the other direction, and gone off track right, not track left. There was no tank slapping or anything else either so it wasnt an overcorrection. I seem to recall another car coming on the track as it happened, so probably the viper got spooked and yanked the wheel to the left and/or mashed the gas at the same time - .RJ - 06-28-2005 Or dragged it through the grass on drivers right and yanked it back on track. You *can* drag 2 wheels across the grass there..... its a pucker though. - Evan - 06-28-2005 no dragging, nothing dramatic before he actually spun it - Nick325is - 06-29-2005 Thats filmed from Charlie Graftons dad's e30 m3. He posts regulary one one of the e30 boards I post on. Evidently the viper driver lifted causing him to spin out going into the turn. Nick |
